A photomontage is produced by integrating a computer generated 3D model of a development proposal with a photograph of its site. The key step is correctly aligning the 3D model in the scene according to the real world camera position, orientation and focal length.

Photomontage is typically used for design development, urban planning approval and marketing.

Four photomontages were produced showing key points along the proposed Light Rail route in South San Jose. The photomontages were published in a Transportation Authority preliminary planning report circulated for public input.

150 Green Street is a proposed office development near historic Jackson Square in San Francisco. The photomontages were completed for the visual analysis section of the Environmental Impact Report.
